Kathu, arguably one of the Northern Cape’s most attractive settlements, is known as “The town under trees” and came into being because of Iscor’s iron ore mining.  Kathu is also home to Sishen Golf Course one of the country’s most beautiful golf courses as it winds its way through a 500-hectare Camel Thorn Forest. Bob Grimsdell designed the Sishen Golf Course with the idea of having a recreation resort for the mining community of Kathu.  The par 72, 18-hole course presents a breathtaking seen for a round of golf and challenge players to a distance of 6450 meters. The Sishen Golf Course is currently ranked at number 26 in South Africa. (http://www.golfdigest.co.za)

It is for this reason that the Lohatlha Military Sports Club has chosen this course to present our main fund-raising project for the past 21 years.  What a better way and place to gather members from all over South Africa to come and enjoy a marvellous golfing experience.

It’s time to find that reliable buddies and get your “A” game together for the Prestige Golf Tournament, taking place in November, grab your clubs, pack your bags and come and join us for a weekend away in the Kalahari.  The competition remains a Betterball Stableford, with teams consisting out of two pairs and all golfers need to have an official handicap. Enter now to avoid disappointment, only 40 teams will be accommodated.

•  9 Hole Skins (Team Competition - Shotgun Start 14:00).

•  Betterball Stableford.
•  Main prize-giving 19:00.

Entrance Fee: R3000.00 per Team (consisting out of two pairs).
                          R650.00 per Non-Golfer attending (Team Manager).
Registration of teams: 06 November 2008 from 08:00 until 13:00
Accommodation: The responsibility of each Team at own cost.
